On 30 June 2025, Ghee Hiang held an official MoA & MoU Exchange Ceremony with Universiti Kuala Lumpur (UniKL) and Universiti Sains Malaysia (USM) at the St. Giles Wembley Hotel, Penang.

This collaboration marks an important step forward in our journey to explore the health benefits of Ghee Hiang Pure Sesame Oil, including its antioxidant, anti-inflammatory, and antimicrobial properties. Through structured academic research, we aim to further strengthen the scientific foundation behind a product trusted for generations — especially by mothers during postnatal confinement.

We were honoured by the presence of YB Daniel Gooi Zi Sen, Penang State EXCO for Youth, Sports & Health, who expressed strong support for our efforts in combining heritage with scientific research. Also in attendance were Puan Nor Liza Mohamad, representing the Deputy Chief Minister I of Penang; Dr. Premalosini Ramanathan, from the Penang State Health Department; and representatives from both UniKL and USM.

As we approach our 170th anniversary in 2026, this collaboration reflects Ghee Hiang’s commitment to continuous improvement, product integrity, and responsible industry practices — where tradition meets innovation.
