On 21 October 2025, Ghee Hiang signed a research collaboration agreement with the Department of Chemistry, Hong Kong Baptist University (HKBU), marking an important step in our ongoing commitment to innovation through academia–industry collaboration. The agreement was signed by Professor Kelvin Leung, Head of the Department of Chemistry, HKBU, and Dato’ Ch’ng Huck Theng, Executive Director of Ghee Hiang.
Supported by Ghee Hiang, the study will explore the potential brain health benefits of bioactive compounds found in Ghee Hiang’s premium sesame oil, using modern scientific research to better understand the value of this natural ingredient.
The signing ceremony was witnessed by representatives from HKBU, MATRADE Malaysia, and the Malaysia Chamber of Commerce (Hong Kong & Macau), reflecting the strong support for cross-border collaboration between industry and academia.
