On 13 June 2026, Ghee Hiang celebrated its 170th Anniversary Dinner at St. Giles Wembley Hotel, Penang. The milestone celebration brought together approximately 500 guests, marking an important chapter in the brand’s 170-year journey and long-standing heritage in Penang.

The evening was graced by YAB Tuan Chow Kon Yeow, Chief Minister of Penang, as Guest of Honour. Joining the celebration were Ghee Hiang’s partners, supporters, friends, and members of the Ghee Hiang family, all coming together to commemorate this meaningful milestone.

A highlight of the evening was the symbolic cake-cutting ceremony made up of 170 pieces of tau sar pneah. More than just the brand’s signature product, it represented the traditions, memories, and connections shared across generations. The event also featured a Long Service Award presentation to recognise and appreciate employees for their dedication and contributions over the years.
